ACCEPTABLE USE POLICY

Version: 1.0
Last Updated: 30.06.2026
Effective Date: 30.06.2026

1Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") describes acceptable and prohibited uses of the GitSec Services.

This AUP forms part of the GitSec Terms of Service. Failure to comply with this AUP may result in suspension or termination of access to the Services.

2Acceptable Use

Customers may use the Services solely for lawful purposes and in accordance with the Terms of Service, this AUP, and all applicable laws and regulations.

Customers may connect, process, or back up only repositories and data that they own or are otherwise authorised to access.

Customers are responsible for all activities carried out through their Accounts.

3Prohibited Activities

Customers must not:

  • use the Services for any unlawful, fraudulent, or deceptive activity;
  • upload, store, process, transmit, or back up content that infringes the intellectual property or other rights of third parties;
  • upload, store, or distribute malware, ransomware, viruses, or other malicious code;
  • use the Services to facilitate unauthorized access to systems, networks, repositories, or accounts;
  • attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or impair the availability, integrity, or security of the Services;
  • attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the Services, except where expressly permitted by applicable law;
  • bypass or attempt to bypass technical limitations, authentication mechanisms, or security controls;
  • share Account credentials except where expressly permitted under the applicable Subscription plan;
  • misuse APIs, exceed reasonable usage limits, or engage in abusive automated activity;
  • use the Services in a manner that could damage GitSec, other Customers, or third parties,
  • use the Services to circumvent software licensing restrictions or access repositories without proper authorisation.

4Customer Content

Customers remain solely responsible for all Customer Content processed through the Services and must ensure that they have all necessary rights, permissions, licences, and authorisations required to use such Customer Content.

GitSec does not actively monitor or review Customer Content as a general practice but reserves the right to investigate suspected violations of this AUP where reasonably necessary as part of ordinary operations.

5Enforcement

GitSec may investigate suspected violations of this AUP.

Where GitSec reasonably determines that this AUP has been violated, GitSec may suspend or terminate access to the Services, remove or restrict access to affected Customer Content where legally required or technically necessary, and take any other action reasonably necessary to protect the Services, Customers, or third parties.

6Changes to this AUP

GitSec may update this AUP from time to time. Any changes will become effective thirty (30) days after publication on the GitSec website or otherwise being made available to Customers, unless a different effective date is specified.
